How to Avoid Being Late for Namaz Constantly?
Namaz (Salah) is one of the basic pillars of Islam. Without it, a Muslim’s faith is incomplete. We can well imagine and realize the significance of Namaz through the following verse of Quran;
“Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained except the companions of the right, [Who will be] in gardens, questioning each other about the criminals, (and asking them), “What put you into Saqar (Hellfire)?” They will say, “We were not of those who prayed.” (74:38-43)
This is the significance of prayer in Islam. The one who does not pray will not be successful in this life as well as the hereafter. Also, great significance is given to the one who prays Namaz in time as it is not acceptable to delay prayer without any legitimate reason.
We should restrict ourselves to praying five times a day without any delays. This article highlights below the ways that shall help us pray Namaz on time.
1. Understand the Significance of Namaz
The foremost aspect that motivates us to pray is the significance of Namaz. In other words, we should delve deep into understanding Allah’s commandments on Salah. Praying; just for the sake of it is not the right way because by doing so, we are just fulfilling an obligation. Consequently, we have no personal affiliation towards Namaz due to our lack of connection with Allah.
The key to praying Salah is to know Allah first and by creating a bond with Him. As a result, we shall be able to understand that Namaz is not just a duty ordained to Muslims, rather it is a way to connect with Allah and to show our love and respect to Him. As a result, we shall not be discouraged and become lazy because we will look forward to the daily five time meeting with Allah. By creating a sacred bond with Allah, we shall not be able to refrain from praying Salah on time
2. Set Alarm for Namaz
A significant way to never miss Salah on time is to set up alarms. By setting alarm, we shall never forget the namaz timings. Hence, we shall be able to pray on time.
Setting alarm is quite easy. It is not necessary that we need an alarm clock to set alarm. We can simply use our mobile phones and tablets to set alarms.
Another way to pray on time is to put sticky notes in our room, office or house. This way we shall remember the exact time to pray. Also, we can ask our Muslim sisters/brothers who have the habit of praying regularly on time to remind us. However, we must not make it a habit to depend entirely on others. We shall be able to pray on time if we strive towards it and have the inclination for it.
“But when you become secure, re-establish [regular] prayer. Indeed, prayer has been decreed upon the believers a decree of specified times.” (4:103)
3. Learn about the Rewards of Salah
Praying regularly blesses us with immense rewards. We constantly need to remind ourselves how important Salah is for us to gain Allah’s pleasure. Prayer brings us closer to Allah and helps us become calm and tolerant. If we pray the right way, prayer becomes a source of peace for us and eases our hardships. Further, Namaz has the power to cleanse us of our sins as The Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) said;
“Tell me, if there is an overflowing river in front of the house of one of you in which he bathes five times a day, will there remain any dirt on him? They said, ‘No dirt will remain on him’. He then said: “That is the example of the five daily obligatory prayers by which Allah erases sins.” [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]
4. Remember Allah Constantly
Another important way to get ourselves to pray on time is to keep remembering Allah throughout the day. This will naturally enable us to draw ourselves towards praying on time without any effort. Make Allah’s zikr (remembrance) by reciting Quran, give charity, attend Islamic gatherings and perform other good deeds.
5. Ask Allah for Help
If we are struggling to pray Namaz on time, we can always ask Allah to help us make it easy for us. Allah knows our intentions and helps us in times of need. If we pray sincerely to Him, He shall definitely help us and make Salah easy for us. It is a fact that nothing happens without the will of Allah, hence praying Salah on time is according to the will of Allah. There are several Ayat in the Quran that we can recite to gain Allah’s help;
“My Lord, make me an establisher of prayer, and [many] from my descendants. Our Lord, and accept my supplication.” (14:40)
These are some of the ways that we can apply in our daily lives. They shall help us pray Namaz on time. For more knowledge regarding Quran and its chapters, contact QuraOnline Team and we shall be pleased to guide you.
