3 Good Deeds that will save us on the Judgment Day
Allah has made life easy for us. Therefore He has made certain good deeds for us to follow in this world as our supporters on the Day of Judgment. That is to say, we shall discuss the good deeds; our intercessors that shall talk to Allah on our behalf. As a result, we shall be able to save ourselves from hell.
The Significance of Good Deeds on the Judgment Day
There are situations in life when we struggle to fight our case before someone. That is to say, there are such situations where we have to struggle to prove our innocence. For example, this might be someone at work who has wronged us or any other individual who has harmed us. Further, there are many of us who hold others accountable for their doings. Moreover, they are even ready to take others to court and as a result, get a fair and just decision in our favor. Certainly, the bigger and graver the case is, the more threatening it becomes for us and our dear ones. That is to say, it can also become life-threatening for us at times.
Desperate Need of Good Deeds on the Judgment Day
Imagine waking into such a courtroom where you are the one who is answerable for your actions. Further, your opponents are very strong and they have hired the best lawyers. On the other hand, there is no one at your end to support and fight your case. Moreover, if you don’t win the case your life is in danger and you shall be hanged to death. Imagine that feeling of fright and terror where you are about to lose your life and there is nobody to save you.
Now imagine the same scenario but with a different judge. The judge is not an ordinary judge; in fact, He is the Lord of the entire world, the one Who has created this big universe with all of us in it. Certainly there will be no one to support and help us. In other words, we are the ones who will represent our own case and are responsible for what we have done. We as Muslims believe in the last and final day. Therefore we all will come across such a situation that we have discussed above. Therefore, in today’s article, we have a solution for you.
Which Good Deeds to Adopt that shall save us on the Judgment Day?
Below we shall discuss the good deeds that will become our advocate on the Final Day before Allah.
A Person who Dies in Madinah
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said that he will intercede for the person on the Day of Judgment who dies in Madinah. Certainly, this may seem difficult for us to achieve. That is to say, it is not that convenient for us to visit Madinah, let alone living there. There are a number of other things that we can discuss when it comes to good deeds that will intercede for us on judgment day.
Fasting; another Good Deed that has Immense Reward
Fasting is another of the good deeds that shall save us on judgment day. Therefore it is great news for those who fast during the month of Ramadan. Further, they observe on several occasions throughout the year. For example, the Prophet (peace be upon him) observed fasts On Mondays and Thursdays or the three lunar days.
Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:
“Allah the Exalted and Majestic said: Every act of the son of Adam is for him, except fasting. It is (exclusively) meant for Me and I (alone) will reward it.”
Sahih Muslim 1151 d
Quran; a basic Good Deed that We must Follow
Well if we say that dying in Madinah is difficult, we can rightly say that reciting Quran is a good deed easy for us to follow and is in our reach. Certainly, the book of Allah is most dear to us. Similarly, Allah has given great significance to the one who recites the book of Allah. In short, Quran will be given a voice on the Day of Judgment. That is to say, each one of us will be able to hear its sound. In other words, this good deed will be our defender and shall save us. On the other hand, it might also be the one against us and become a reason for us to enter hell.
Therefore it has rightly been said that we must recite Quran as it will intercede for us on the Day of Judgment. Further, there are special Quranic chapters that we must recite. These include Surah Bakra and Surah Al-Imran. These two Surahs will present before Allah in the way the birds appear in the form of a flock and shall defend us. This is one of the easiest good deeds that we can adopt and which shall act as our intercessor on the Day of Judgment. That is to say, each one of us has the Quran. Therefore it is just for us to make it a habit to recite it daily. Certainly, Allah’s final book is the best of the intercessor for us on the Day of Judgment.
Abu Umama said he heard Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) say:
“Recite the Qur’an, for on the Day of Resurrection it will come as an intercessor for those who recite It.
Read the two bright ones, al-Baqara and Surah Al ‘Imran, for on the Day of Resurrection they will come as two clouds or two shades, or two flocks of birds in ranks, pleading for those who recite them.
Recite Surah al-Baqara, for to take recourse to it is a blessing and to give it up is a cause of grief, and the magicians cannot confront it.”
Sahih Muslim 804, Book 6, Hadith 302
